Looking for some links or photos of the internal setup for our Hummers, the USMC TOW variety, in regards to the SINGARS. I am doing the tamyia version, but want to update the interior. Hoping someone out there has some references. Would love to have photos from OIF as my model will reflect the run up to Baghdad.

Thanks in advance.

Here is a photo, not SINCGARS though. It is basically the same set-up though.

Single SINCGARS setup, double would have another on top.

Here's a bad photo (sorry)

Here is a group shot of the whole system.

Basically, the radio mount sits on the shelf you see in the first photo. The mounting shelf is standard setup in most HMMWVs. The mount is the same as well, the radios themselves slide in and out of the mount to change the configuration.
Hope those help.

Are they strapped down, or clamped in place, or are there brackets to fit them securely?

Mounts are bolted to the shelf, which is secured to the vehicle with screw/bolts. The radios secure into the mounts with wingnuts on clips that hold them in place.
Here is a shot of a standard (ICOM) SINCGARS on the bottom and new, smaller ASIP on the top. You can see the two sets of wingnuts on the bottom and middle. Bottom ones show aluminum clips that secure the radio well.

Another ASIP/ ICOM set-up

PS: Don't know why the first photo keeps going redX. It works for a while, then goes away. It wasn't a great pic anyways, really only showed the radio shelf. If you copy its properties, and past into new window, it works.

Here's a last one showing a slightly different set-up :

The site it comes from also shows many Polish vehicles used in Iraq and some Iraqi stuff as well...(but speaking Polish is an advantage here !)
