Hi guys, I started addind some snow to my russian front dio. The snow is from Woodland scenics and is attached by a light mist of a spray adhesive. I like the effect so far.

i like the look of the snow! one thing, i doubt that much snow would keep on the tank regarding to the ammound of the snow on the streets... you should either make a thicker layer of snow on the streets or remove some from the tank. Dont get me wrong, the tank does look very nice this way but a bit unrealistic

keep up the good work!

cheers

I agree with Sensei, it looks as if your tank hasn't moved since it started snowing. If the tank is to be abandonded that's fine, but if it's in action there would be no snow on the wheels and the inside of the tracks.
Also the engine compartment would be free of snow .
Much depends on how much snow you will add to the dio in total, if lots of snow has fallen only recently, there would be more snow on the tank, but as Sensei says, you would have to add more snow on the ground.

Looking good sofar, keep the pic's coming.

Cheers
Henk

remove some of the snow from the top as if the engines running and crew inside firing the gun the heat will rise and melt the snow. If its abandoned put some snow over the ruts/tracks it's left behind to blend them in a bit more. I'd also think of moving the turret to the direction the MG cre are facing. The dio's comming along nicley though:-H

if the snow is attached with a light adhesive, i would just take a soft brush and gently brush some of the snow away from the flat surfaces of the tank and keep the snow in the cracks of it because by moving the snow would blow off or melt, but in the cracks it would build up.. just my 2 cents
ian but i love the effect on the building looks friggen awesome

Im sorry, but i doubt ANY sane germans wouldnt be sitting under the turret of a tank while in battle because of the fire from the shells. Just my unexperienced opinion.

Waterboy -

Looks great and thanks. This is giving me a good idea for the effect I want for the "snow" representation for the later stages the Battle of the Bulge. What was the "adhesive" you used?

Thanks for the tips and kind words gentlemen
Blade48mrd the adhesive is a spray that I got at the Hobby Lobby arist paint section. Its made by a company called Crafts Etc. and comes in a 5.5 oz can.
