Hola people,

I was asked to made a dio for my scouting club. So they can use it for promotion. It was not my intention to make a perfect dio. You know what I mean . The dio is almost finished so I would like to know what you think of it. Thanks for viewing

Jurjen,
Looks good. Are you planning figures for around the campfire or tents? You could use Rritish Desert Rat figures in shorts for your base and add a DI style hat for the Scout Master. Just a thought. I like it.

Jurjen, nice setup, i too am in the Scouts,(BSA, boy scouts america) i really like what you've done with this. i worked as a merit badge counselor over the summer at a scoutcamp near me and that brings back some memories. the equipment we had was slightly different, we used the canvas wall tents.

heavy arty had an excellent idea as the desert rat figures do look like scouts!

great dio

Oh yes, this bring back memories. I was in the scouts in Holland years ago. Small tent, check
Ground cover over table, check
Campfire, check
Big oildrum, ... Big oildrum
I do remember leaving the camping site looking like a bomb went of :-) :-) after a week-end of timber logging and general forrest clearing. I agree that the desert figures make good scouts, I made that conversion when I was a scout. The figures wear berets, which is right, althought these days the short trousers are probably not the fashion.

Cheers

Looks nice, a few figures would finish it off nicely.
Back in the stone age, I also was a scout, and actually was a scoutmaster after I was discharged from the Navy for a few years. Aw.... sweet memories of youth....... Now don't laugh guys, but I actually had my old Boy Scout-Master patch jacket all the way up to a few years ago, until hurricane Flyod, decided to overflow the Passic River into my house.

dave, did you know baden powell? :-) but for the figures, i dont know what your uniforms look like,

but we have the OD green (closest color i can think of)shorts and the tan dress shirt. with green knee high socks with red stripe on the top. we dont wear berets as much as some other countries w/ scouts do.

Jurjen -

Very nice touch and definitely touching to many of us old "Scouters". Still involved in Scouts up here in the Great Northwest, but don't get out on the hikes like in the past. Wish I'd had the opportunity to see more of Scouting around the world at one of the "World Jamborees". A couple of packs, an ax, or maybe a fishing pole could add a touch more to the memories. Great rememberances,

Wow..looks really great. I love the tents. How did you do those? That scene does bring back memories. I was a girl scout. We also camped and fished and the like. Imagine, girls doing that. Anyway..great work.
