Here is step two. You can see where I've started addin some chips. It may seem a bit overchipped at this point, but the additional steps should change that a bit.

The chips were done using the same Tamiya basecoat, but I added two drops of Delta Ceramacoat Color Float. It's essentially an extender, as the Tamiya paints dry extremely fast.

Yeah, huge improvement Mark. You just applied that with a fine brush?

That looks really great! I have my T-38 waiting for a similar colouring...
Somehow rough weathering suits any Russian armor ! Like it a lot!

Just crossed my mind as there was debate about brush marks being off-scale...how about adding some white aquarelle pen strokes over the white you have there now? At least I´m going to attempt that.
I also found a link where this paint chipping was done vice versa...
Dr Ahn´s winter scheme

One of the most interesting things in this hobby: You can have excellent results with many different techniques!

Mark, I noticed you used the spoked road wheels instead of the solid ones. What is the operational difference? I have no references on the T-60.

Sabot,

Not being an expert on armour I've got only 2cents to give... I've heard that the spoked wheels where a pain in muddy / wet terrain.

and just for fun and some reference :

From what I know, early year and late year. I have seen photos where it would have both. Later year models also had additional armor around the turret.

The spoked wheels were on the early model T-60s and the solid wheels were on the late model T-60s.

Mark pointed out that the box top shows a spoked wheel tank but with a solid idler wheel, go figure.

Nice meeting you at the meeting Sabot.

Here's the link I was telling you about with some T-60 information.
