Hi, Just picked up this kit at the local hobby shop this week end and man, I am impressed! This box is full of parts, quite literally. This thing looks like it has everything in it but the kitchen sink, and it may be there somewhere. Plus a set of figures to go along with it. Lots and lots of decals, some PE and turned aluminum barrel for the short 75 mm gun and ammo too. I got it over a little over $25, so I think this is a good by for a model kit of this size, and I imagine, complexity as well. Only trouble with it is that I want to built both the ngiht fighting unit and the howitzer unit. And we know what that means. Ha, ha!

I also see that Dragon has re-issued their heavy rail road car kit as well. So this will give anybody who whats to put a tank or other heavy armored vehicle on a railroad flat car, something that looks the part..

Take care, Sgirty

Got this as well from hobby easy. The price for this kit and two sets of dragon soldiers plus shipping was cheaper than the dragon kits here in Sweden.
I totally agree on the impressiveness of the kit. Methinks that trumpeter has "put the wind up" dragon and they have taken some steps to get their position back. Whatever the reason, we are the winners with kits of this quality coming out.
I bought a verlinden conversion for the 251 to make a UHU version, and as these worked together with the nightfighting units it could be the start of a cool dio. Might even consider a panther with nightfighting option into the bargin!! All is needed now is the time!

The Verlinden resin set is better than the MB models one but not as good as the Rand J version.

I've got all three, and there is little chance of any of them getting finished before DML releases their announced (and with an item number, but no images yet) UHU.

When you see how many parts are in this box you might not think thats such a great idea! Only big plus would be that you would have 3 sets of the 75mm ammo to play with! Theres enough building in this kit to keep a person happy for quite a few hours!

And just to rub it in even more .... theres 2 sets of indy tracks included ...the normal set on the sprues and a set of easy tracks ... they are already pre-cut. Dont think IŽll use them though as they all suffer from sink marks!

I asked one of the hobby shops in Brisbane whether this kit was in yet. The owner had seen one at a recent trade show (in Melbourne I think) that had been especially sent out from Japan or wherever they are headquartered.

He said it should be in this months catalogue and should retail for about AUS$35.00.

for that price it will definitely be on my Christmas wish list.

How was the easy tracks? How about some pics? I'm eager to see what they look and how easy they are to be built.

You could always fit the spare parts you dont use onto one of the newer Tamiya 251kits :-)
I'm really looking forward to seeing the engineering version looks like so many spare parts in there to equip a mini army

As most of you know, (or at least you should by now ) I am not exactly the world's number one fan of German Armor... However, don't be too surprised if one of these days I appear with one or two - the engineer version is just TOO attractive...Jim

Went into the LHS the other day looking for that exact kit and it wasn't there. Was looking to pick it up for Jackhammer81. Well its on order and should be here soon. I can't wait to see it after hearing your reviews.
