I'm painting my sdkfz 222 and I have NO idea what the extinguisher on the side is supposed to look like when painted! Anybody have some pics? Greatly appreciated!

Hi. Difficult one. Ask Ian Sadler, he knows a lot about this sort of thing I believe.

NOT red...
Normally it is in the same color as the vehicle. So panzer grey or dark yellow.

Ok, how about this one then, what about the definative answer for INTERIOR-mounted fire extinguishers?
What about those in open topped vehicled, 250/251's , SP-AT guns (Nashorn), and SP arty Hummel and Wespe?
And if the hand-held (not vehicle-mounted and plumbed) interior versions were painted red, and as they are the same mount as the exterior versions , then it WOULD be possible to see a red extinguisher mounted on the exterior of a vehicle. Wouldn't it?
Mike

It would indeed...
I hope you can see it, but the extinguisher on the back is red. I pressumee that they would be supplied red and, if mounted externally, over painted if the hull was repainted.
The insde one was red.
Cheers
