I base coated my tank tamiya German Grey and found that when it dried it was semi gloss. I like it, seems to give it more of a metal look. How can I reproduce this with an airbrush or can of spray. I don't want gloss but a bit of sheen. Which begs the question should tanks is completely flat finished it seems metals should have a bit of a shine even under paint.

Are you saying using a can or through an airbrush?

If you mean by an airbrush, just add a small amount of gloss clear coat to your flat paint and thin accordingly.

Want I do when I want a gloss finish it get a spray can of clear gloss, I know testors or model masters has it, and just add however much gloss you want to it. Obviously the more you spray on, the more gloss there will be

Try using Model Masters Acryll's Semi Gloss in bottle for airbrushing. I use the flat and it is "FLAT." I also use the semi to simulate items that have a sheen to them, not quite flat or gloss.
