I will be starting a new model for the upcoming Ardennes Capaign but I'm wondering what color the engine bay and what color the interior of a German tank is? I usually button up my AFVs and never paint the interiors.

Dark red metal primer. But most of the time pretty black from dirt and oil.
I use Humbrol matt red brown (100) combined with German camouflage red brown (160) as shading color. Then apply Tamiya smoke (x19).
This should do the trick for the engine bay.
For the interior of the tank, anything off-white goes.
