I met a bunch of people at the AJAX show this weekend who commented on the quality of Legend kits. Some were complimentary, while others were unhappy. Can anyone shed some light on this? Is it a matter of old news being rectified by production improvements or do the problems still exist?

for the most part it's good.... I've got a couple of the Minigun sets... and the barrels are warped....
Gun mounts broken (but they're brittle to begin with)
The "larger" parts are all good quality

Ditto what Matt wrote. I like Legends Productions items, but I've experienced warpage on the smaller items like the gun barrels. They respond to hi-warm (not boiling, but hot from the faucet) water dipping and straightening.
Everything else I've gotten, however, has been bubble-free and cast in high-quality detail. The resin is a bit brittle - carefully bend when hot water straightening, but not difficult to work with.

I just got a bunch of figures...excellent quality, no problems that I have been able to discover - yet.

I've got the M48 stoage set really nice bubble free and soft unlike the Verlinden resin good detail only thing wrong is there is no instructions for the set as you need to remove/not fit parts for the sandbags to sit correctly but bar that no problems at all

Thanks chaps. Sounds like it was old news. Certainly the good reviews outweigh the bad ones.

Only problem I've run across is the horrible smell you get when you open them up at first...its enough to turn your stomach. Let the kit air out for a couple days before starting it

My Son was stationed in Korea and I was able to secure several Legend aftermarket products. I have their sandbag and turret set for the M4 which is quite well done and a joy to add to the basic Tamiya kit. On the other hand, I have their improvement kit for the M5A1 Stuart...it is terrible. The hull is significantly out of proportion to the kit upper half, the frontal slope is a "so what" piece as is the hedge row cutter. I am very disappointed in the quality of this particular item. On balance, they are a fairly good company to buy from, but you take a thirty dollar chance on some items.

Paul,My opinion is that Legend kits are acceptable!I havent had any issues with them at this point !There quality seem's to be better than A.E.F design's,But maybe not as good as say Accuarate Armor! Not to bad of a buy for the money!

Gentlemen,
Thanks for the additional input. I guess you can't please everyone. I have noted that most aftermarket manufacturers will replace damaged parts if you write to them.
