Hi all,
on my latest journey to my LHS I came across this kit: woz techniczny C7P (p) by Mirage Hobby. . It is a Polish build tractor based on the chassis of the Vickers 6T. They were build and used as tractors for the Mortars. The germans used the captured ones for recovery purposes after they caputered them. Guess what??
I'll be building the recovery version for the recovery campaign. The M88 will be on the backburner for a while.
First impressions are good, most detail seems to be crisp, there are some serious ejector pin marks that need to be sorted, and I'm in two minds about the tracks. They are soft rubber and don't seem to be the best fit.
Unfortunatly I have a major malfunction where uploading of pic's is concerned, some You'll have to wait a bit for those.
ooh, the best bit, the price... this wonderfull little model, with plenty of detail and interior, cost me £ 13-99.
I do like those east european companies, they stock the weird and wonderfull, and at reasonable prices. I will be buying more of these Polish odd machines in the near future.
Cheers
Henk

Is this the same model? A guy at our local IPMS club built it and it turned out great. I have been interested in it since. Definately one of those...."would be cool to have in the collection" models. Sorry about the bad pic. but it shows it can be built into a nice model.

I have that vehicle too. Bit of a story behind it in my case. I bought that thing at an event and was curious about some Am stuff for it. well I found and bought some PE for it. Actually 4 of the 5 PE sets available. From Part out Poland. And later I bought some Modelkasten tracks for the thing.
I started building it and put it back in the box. The 4 sets of part are about the most challenging PE I have ever encountered. Probably it builts up really nice as an OOTB model I would only suggest replacing the tracks as they aren`t that much.
I promised to keep the C7P in the box untill my retirement. After a whole life of modeling I must have enough experience to tackle the Part PE sets.

Yes Frank, that's the one. The one in your pic (thanks) is the Polish one, in three tone Camouflage before it was captured by the Germans. Mine will be Panzergrau, as I want to build the recovery version with the boom on the back.
This company do quite a lot of Polish stuff, and some Diorama stuff aswel. I have their wooden bridge and their picketfence with handcart. The are cheap and nice, but same ejector mark problems. Nothing that can't be fixed. At less than half the price of Tamiya, and more important a different choice than : ' do I build the Tiger I early, late, mid, ardennes, or another of the endless stream of Panthers' .
Cheers

Does the kit come with the recovery version parts, such as a crane or towing pieces, etc. Just wondering because it sounds interesting. Thanks.

Yes Josh, All the bits for the German recovery version are included. All I will add is probably a lenght of chain.
On the subject of chains, I get mine in the local charity shops. . They usualy sell some cheap juwellary at the counter, and some neckchains are just the right scale. Usualy pick up a lenght for about £ 0.50. Compare that with aber.. .
Robert, what are the PE sets like? I,m no great fan of spending several times the price of the kit on AM sets, but some times the results are worth it. I might go for the modelkasten tracks as the more I look at the kit ones the less appealling they are.
Oh, Zaterdag avond, drink er een voor mij, want ik moet vanavond werken.
Groeten
