Hi Guys and Gals:
So, Now that most of you know about my LUCKY WEEKEND. i.e. Dagger Big Haul. You will also know that I Bought the above mentioned Kit: So My question, Is.. Has anyone here built this kit yet, And if so. How did they like it. I'm sure that someone has probably brought this kit up before. But I must have missed it. ANYWAY, It looks like a pretty easy kit to build
And I will be happy when I can get started on it. HOPEFULLY in a few weeks. So any, input would be appreciated.

Dagger-1 - I've built the kit before, OOB and correcting the detail to make a representative of an actual service vehicle. It's a typical Tamiya kit - little problems, easy to do, and fun to finish.

The HMMWV Crusaders out there have an unending supply of plus and minus points with the basic kit that you can use as food for thought on correcting details and improving what's given to you in the kit.

Suffice to say, if you just wanna build a model and have something to improve your skills - this is a good one to work with.

Great , Gunnie:
Thanks , That's what I was hoping and figuring to hear. Being a Tamiya Kit it is what I have come to expect. Having looked at the kit , When I got it home. It looked pretty simple and should not take too long to build. BUT then too I have not done any Regular vehicle tyes in a long while. i.e. Engine, Trany, and Wheels. etc. So I might find myself being JUST A LITTLE CONFUSED. LOL. Anyway. Thank you for your feed back.

Actually, it is a typcial Italeri kit. Read my HMMWV article accessible from the home page, it is basically the Italeri HMMWV. Eduard did a PE set for it, I have one at home, and it may be worth a look for.

Rob:
Thanks for the feed back. I was wondering why I had not seen this particular kit before. And now I know. At best I should have bought the Italieri Kit. BUT I don't know if it was in the inventory or not. This one just sort of jumped out at me. And I rather liked it. Even thopugh I was pretty certain that it was not a type that was not in the U.S. Army inventory. BUT then I might have been wrong. ( According to you though, I guessed correctly) Anyway, Had I had the choice, You Know I would have still selected the Tamiya kit anyway. Regardless. of the facts. Believe me, It was a hard decision, Between it and the Tamiya M2A2, Which I really like. BUT I have never built a Hummer before. So it did not take all that long to make up my mind. I still plan on buying another M2A2 very soon. ..Well ..After Christmas anyway..

Back in the mid to late 80s, there were only 3 HMMWV kits, the original Italeri M998, the Tamiya Bushmaster and the Esci M998. This is the first time it has been reissued, so grab it while you can. The M2A2 has been a staple since the Gulf War.
