Hello everyone,
I have a Harder & Steenbeck airbrush i'm very satisfied with, but I have a problem: how to clean the tip?
Even if I try to clean up the airbrush very often (thorough cleaning up every two cups), the tip eventually gets dirty with dry paint inside.
As it is really small (0.2 mm), I could not find any mechanical way to remove the dry paint. So my question is: do any of you have a solution for this case?
Thanks a lot in advance.
Cheers,
Laurent

I use the smallest size micro-brushes, disposable brushes sold in packs of 5. That is the only thin I have found that will fit.

I buy them at the hobby shop. Micro Mark carries them as well.
If the airbrush tip is all metal, you can soak it in laquer thinner, and 'scrub' (not really possible to scrub inside there I know) the inside with the micro brush.
I also have a laboratory squeeze bottle that I put thinner in and can direct the stream into the nozzle.
I work over a plastic dish washing basin when cleaning my airbrush parts.
A retired or bent needle can also be used to pick out stubborn paint flecks as well.
