You can use liquid mask as well as rubber cement. Just make sure you get it thick enough so that you can see it and remove it.
You can also use salt

Greetings guys
The pictures shown here is a WWII German tank Panther II from Dragon, painted in desert color, with green camo. The camo scheme was taken from 1/SS Pz Abt 503, Berlin-Sektor 05.1945 and it was original belong to King Tiger paint scheme. How come I knew all these detail? Because this tank was painted by me . And Leopold the chipping effect is by using top quality pointed brush 000, with Vallejo paint as a medium, very gently and carefully applied the paint, do it very slowly, section by section, on and off move back to check the effect until you "feel right".

Hello Leopold, please don't mentioned about the violated law, in fact it is my pleasure to see my model was used for a discussion subject. Anyway you need a picture for back up for easy communication.
A cup of coffee, sure why not, less sugar please
As for Vallejo paint, I have been using many type of paints for the past 20 years, somehow I found that Vallejo paint still commands respect among all the acrylic paint, simple because it has a very high pigmented, formulated to adhere to plastic or resins surfaces.
cheers

Dear Coca;
I am about to build either a Panther late A or a Stug IV G, both are Dragon kits... I want to use the light tan color base to the models, and use the technique you have just discribed.... my question is;
"What color is the closest to your Vallejo color that you use for your chipped paint tech...In MM or Tamiya, Burnt umber, Red Brown,,, or is it a mix to two colors,..."

P.S. Do you have a web site with other models on display...

Hi Thomas, thanks for your comments.
For the chipping effects I used flat german gray, flat brown and flat earth.
As for the web site, I thinking to set up one in the near furture, and of course I will inform you once is ready.
cheers..
