Hi guys,
This is a scetch of the dio that I plan to make. As I am not an expert in war tactics can anyone tell me where in hell should I place the MG? I had an idea but I think that it is not the right possision.
Thank you in advance

Hi,
As what I've seen in the sketch you posted, it seems you want to model figures/vehicles in action implying that they are shooting at something not presented in the dio.
Usually, as far as I know, MG Gunners take cover (sandbags, rubble, etc) where they set-up thier MGs and shoot at their enemies.
As far as your sketch is concerned, it's still vague as to what direction your figs/vehicles are shooting. You didn't include the details in your sketch.
Assuming they are shooting something across the cobblestone road, then that's a good firing position for an MG. The gunner shooting through the window is also nice.

The brick wall infront of the house is a great firing position. The hole in the wall also has great concealment, the MGers could either go prone or have a sandbag bunker in between the destroyed wall.

I would place the MG in the window. Behind the cover of a few sand bags and walls it would be in a really good spot.

I owuldn't palce the MG in the ruined wall, because his flank is exposed. I would make a few sandbags from putty and put the MG in the window.

IGI -
I go along with what Angela, Marty, and Verboten suggested and put MG reinforced in window. You're field of fire and protection is best there especially if this is more of a MG42 vs lighter MG34 (assuming Germans of course). Using the damaged wall position to support/protect the MG is necessary also. If the "enemy" gets up to your brickwall, it is likely they would be tossing grenades at MG from behind protection so you want some figures able to make being behind the wall a bad place to be.

Opinion only here...To me it depends on the layout of your scene..meaning, did the troops involved have time to set up their position or was it happenstance and they came upon a situation. Was a position set up with time to spare or was it a situation where it was drop and gun? Its up to you on the story to tell. Were we dug in and waiting or did we happen upon our opponent?

Mmmmm, I gotta agree with John (PvtParts) here. It really depends on the story the dio is trying to depict.

i have to go with all the guys that talked before. U have to have a more completed idea of your story first , and also the items that will be presented. Some figures a vehicle or more. Then u ll have to think how things would go in the normal life for this story....Unless.... u wont do a fighting dio but some Mg ers taking cover and just waiting for the enemy . Well thats a another thing.
Anyway i wouldnt put the Mg right behind from the window cause if i was one from the attackants the first thing that i d do was to throw a grenade through the window to anyone i could imagine that would be behind that ...but thats just my HO.
So feel free to think some more on your story before u start ur construction.
Further more since u have road building and in general items that have straight lines try to put them in angle related to ur base straight lines to avoid a parallel setup that would decrease interest a lot .

thank you all guys for your immediate reply. Conserning the story, it is a peacefull day, no fightings, Germans are resting, one of them is talking to the radio, a motorcycle stopped in front of the house, perhaps a Kw.
I think that I' ll make Germans to carry the MG and try to set it up this particullar moment wondering like me where to place it.
