Yes Ladies and Gentlemen! My Bulldog is done. See for yourself at Yoda's Hut
It was a frantic race to get these online... camera batteries dying, antenna falling over (I'll fix it in the next series of pics)... I'll update the photos when I get time! Let me know what you all think!!! :-)

Looking good there, Master Yoda!
Did you add the lifting lugs at the front yourself?? Because I am working on the M41 also and my kit did not have those(?).
I did a fair amount of work on it to make it look better. As soon as it is done, I will take pics and upload them to my site for all to see. Stay tuned!

Yoda, looks great! I've often devated doing this kit myself. Is this the old or new Tamiya kit?

There's a NEW Tamiya kit??? Ohhh. I want it!!! Isn't there another kit by a different manufacturer out there too? I think the one I built is the old kit, but I'm not sure.
BLueFalcon; Yes, I added the lifting lugs. They were ripped from my M60A2...
I'm not sure if I'll keep the tarp-covered tool rack. I can't say I think it looks too good... but I didn't know what else to do for now.

Do any of you have tip on how I could have made this a better model? If I'd have thought of it, I would have extended the shields around the driver's viewports. (If you don't know what I mean, see Gunnie's build up of the same kit...)

YM - go back and build a new Pioneer Tool Rack yourself. When done, retrofit it to your BullDog in place of the one you have now. It's a good learning experience - trust me...

Secondly, the new Tamiya release is NOT a new BullDog - it's a motorized rehash of the kit you just built - retailing a whole lot more. If you want a new BullDog that's stunning - get the AFV Club M41A3 (I only have three of them so far) or wait for the Skybow M41A1 - neither will disappoint you...

Gunnie, thanks for that info. I have the rehashed r/c converstion...stuff (to get it 'G' rated). I've seen several of the afv club kits around and they look nice. Might have to pick one up for the next piece of armor when the bug bites.

Yoda, I think the bulldog looks great. I like the weathering evident on the white decals on the side, which are now pretty brown. I always like that effect when it is done well. Is it just me, or did you have some trouble with the right side tracks?

I am in the final stages of the same kit. I followed gunnies advice and built a new tool rack and then bought some academy (I think that what they where) tools to fill it. It turned out to short so I have to make some modifications to it. I also am adding a tow cable I made from lead foil and thick ship builders rope. I mainly did this kit to keep me busy during some medical down time and to try some new things (If I am going to ruin a kit why not ruin one that only cost $12) Anyway Great job yoda man! You have inspired me to pick up the pace and get mine done. My wife has had a death grip on the crafting table for about a week, I will have to get her away somehow.

TimberWolf, try some electrical wire! It works pretty well. The hard part is stripping the insulation off and then getting the wire reasonably straight. But, it is a low price for a decent effect... I need to glue the rear wire back on since it fell off.

Ah! :-) Thanks for pointing that out! I forgot to melt the tracks together... With Tamiya's vinyl tracks there are pins on one end and holse on the other. When attaching the treads that is how they create a loop, and you are told to use a heated screwdriver to fasten them. I skipped that step. oops...
That's the kind of feedback I like, Folgore. The little details that noticed on a model. Anything else?

I'll probably do that a few months from now. I'll make a new tool rack (where can I get it?), and I'll add a gun mantlet cover... I still want some experince making one before I add it here.

Only three ? Gee. And I have none...
When's the Skybow version coming out?

Real cool model, Yodaman.
I know this kit and I can calculate the amount of job you put into it (believe me its huge!)
Keep up the good work, and next time try some optical cable for the antennas...
Cheers

By the way, I think you should add some spice to it, maybe a little of weathering to make it come to live............................................ :-)

{AFV Club M41A3 to Kencelot} buuuild me, buuuild me - you know you'll love it...

YM - I've heard the Skybow M41A1 was held up in the race to get the first new BullDog out on the shelves because they wanted to make sure the addition of a Mantlet Cover was correct. The AFV Club model was released without the Mantlet Cover, presumably to be the first out of the gate...
