Chuck, these are reissues of some of the best kits made in the 1970s. They are former Bandai kits and are highly detailed with interiors, separate hatches and access panels, engines, crewmen, ammo in racks, etc. The place where they fall short is the decals. They are basically stickers, yes, peel-and-stick. Worse yet, the stickers are all printed on one solid sheet, with the background color of the sheet the same as the color of the plastic of the kit (M4A3 Sherman decal sheet is OD green, Hetzer decal sheet is tan). I guess the Chinese are not expected to paint.
Now I'm talking about the Frog/Fuman reissue decals, not the original Bandai kits or the old Academy re-boxes (I have the M-12 GMC and it is the Bandai kit with Bandai decals in an Academy box using Bandai artwork). Those kits have the normal decals associated with early Japanese kits.
The Frog/Fuman kits are worth a go. Most decals can be scrounged from the parts box. I even have a set of Eduard PE for the M4A3 kit.
Too bad the scale didn't catch on for armor. They were ahead of their time. My first one was a T-34, awesome kit.

Thanks Rob
I am always looking for 48 scale stuff to go into a diorama with a couple of 48 scale a/c I have. Military Hobbies has some of these kits listed as well as some Bandai offerings. I have built Bandai 48 scale kits in the distant past and liked them. Thanks for the info.

Chuck, if you need armour decals to 1/48, the French company Gaso-Line do some. I also obtained some made by Super Scale, although they maybe hard to find now.
