Hey guys, Im looking for a destroyed barn Ive checked everywhere. It is for my ardennes offensive. My dio is taking place in a non-subberban place. So I decided to put a farm. I have seen a couple destroyed barns but they are brick, do you think something on a farm would have bricks? Can someone get some good pics ive been searching for a long time, and finally decided to turn to you guys. I am also looking for a destroyed farm house as well. I DO NOT want it to look like its a city house.

Built house from plaster. Farm houses are quite easy to built. They dont have as many details as urban houses.

I second the suggestion by ZeroCool. A barn is just some post and planks. The realism will probably be in the details such as hayloft pulley, fancy hinges on the barn doors, knot holes in the wood planks.

Harrison,
Some of the towns and villages within the Ardennes are hundreds of year’s old, construction with stone or brick for buildings including farm structures or barns was not uncommon. I would not hesitate constructing the lower section of a barn from stone (plaster).

Check the galleries and diorama sections for ideas, and build one yourself. I was amazed when I first came here and seen many of the scratch-built buildings in those sections.

go ahead and scratch build it, if you havnt scratch built a building before, its not hard at all, and it gives you a greater feel of appreciation versus buying a farm the building one!

Check this barn out - it wouldn't take much to destroy it.

Verlinden makes a ceramic barn ruin, it is definitely European, and would look at home in the Ardennes. Years ago I did a dio using it (co-incidentally it was set in the Ardennes) for my Battalion Commander. It worked out ok.

you dont have the time to build your self a farm?
hmm whats the deadline for the dio?
and its about the fun not the speed.
it looks like you have almost finished your tank and your figures, so enough time for the groundwork right? including the barn

Building the Barn won't take long
Just take a few minutes and write/draw your idea on a piece of paper and work from there
