I know it's subjective but I find tha the PZ IV (without skirts) is a really cool and beautifully shaped and designed tank. The square angles etc makes it look really nice and distinctive. Now, not meaning to offend anybody I think the grant is ugly and..............(sorry, I'll whisper) the sherman I don't want to start a flame war but what do you guys think?

Everyone will have a different opinion of course, but to my mind one of the best has to be the Cromwell. Clean lines, christie suspension, no odd protrusions, what's not to like!

To make it even better, the Tamiya offering of the Cromwell may just be the best engineered kit in plastic. Others of course may have other, but wrong, ideas. Flame at will!

Godfather, I know what you mean. The Pz. III and IV have always had a certain appeal to me as well. They are my favorite subject matter to model. As for US armor, I never thought the designers were able to get the lines right. US WWII armor always seem too tall to the overall length of the vehicle. This is just my aesthetic opinion...nothing to do with the overall effectiveness of the unit.

Speaking for myself, I've always liked the "racy" lines of the M-24 Chaffee, closely followed by the Crusader Mk2.

Just going strictly on looks here, but the Panther and King Tiger tanks had a definitely "modern" look to them.

I've got to agree with the Sabot-ster.. umm. Sabot-ster Sir! -grin-

The Panther, and to my mind the G model with the 1-part sloping rear side armor, is the all time hands down sleekest meanest nastiest most capable looking tank in WWII.

T34's eennnhhh.. I know the Panther was derived from them, but they just look clunky..

Shermans, nope..not for me.

Some of the Panther fantasies are even more interesting looking.. Schmalturms and all..

I would have to say that my overall favorite vehicle based on looks alone is the BT. Besides looking cool I love the irony that that tank was mostly developed by Walter Christie (an American) and it directly led to the development of the T-34 which in turn led to the development of all later modern Russian armor. So basically all Russian armor stem from an American design.

I also love the looks of the early panzers like the I, II, III, and IV. I also find the Crusader II to be a really cool looking vehicle. I'm not into Shermans, Panthers, or Tigers very much (I think that that is because they are the models that the majority of armor modelers are doing and I want to set myself apart from the pack).

A person who looks at a Jumbo Sherman and does not come away saying "Now, that's a Tank" does not possess a soul.

I'll agree that they are tanks, but they don't get my blood flowing like so many others. One thing I'll admit though is that I gained a lot more respect for Shermans when I actually got the chance to see one in person. They are a hell of a lot bigger than I expected. The tank that really got my attention when I saw it in person is the Pershing. Now that is one huge, monsterous beast.

Even though it was prone to mechanical problems and had no sloping armor. I still prefer the behemouth of the battlefield.......the Tiger I. I just really like the sheer size of it. Otto

Let me chime in - I like the Tiger I, just something powerful and commanding about it. The Stuart is just so cute, I've got a special place for that lil' guy
On the modern front I like the Merkava, low profile, unique turret set back.

I've gotta agree with Otto, the Tiger I. Big, in your face vehicle with a lot of attitude. Just sitting there it seems to be saying, "What? You want a piece of me? Well, c'mon, I'm waitin'!"

I vote for the M24 Chaffee as well - it looks all around better than them all - and would look at home even today - a half-century and some change later.

Well, I too like the M24's look, but I'm also in favor of the T34-76. Sort of the Russian hot rod of AFV's IMHO. Just love watching them at speed.

Maybe not "tank" exactly, but I've always loved the look of the Hetzer, and the jagdpanther. The Hetzer reminds me of a sports car, low slung, and all business. But for a true tank, I would have to agree on the Tiger I , just a picture of pure mean.

God Lord in Heaven, these people have no soul.......think Sherman and nothing else.

Chafee, yes! I forgot about that one. Nice looking tank. altough you have to admit most german armour and softskin vehicles were nice to look at and at times menacing. I've always had a soft spot for the Horch 4X4.

Just My thoughts TIGER I (mean looking beast). Hetzer most unique redesign of a WW II Tank. Modern I like the looks of the Borfors "S" tank (comming soon from Trumpeter).
