Ok heres the deal, I have no money to buy resin headstones, and I would like to have some for a diorama that I have planned.
So heres the deal, I would like to know if anyone has any ideas about how to make some headstones in 1/35 scale.
Thanks
~Chip

Chip,
Here is what you need, "BALSA FOAM!"
I am not a 100% sure where you can get it. We use to stock it in the hobby store i worked at.
Its very carvable. You can scribe things into it. All yo have to do is seal it when your done.
Here you go, found a sight where you can order it:

Use the real stuff!! Modelling clay or Milliput. Once it's set you can carve it as you need it.

Chip;
I've made them out of drywall. You can cut whatever shapes you want, and it carves, sands, weathers, etc. nice cause it's real plaster. Check this link for the whole story.

Chip250 -
I've even used tongue depressors or popsicle sticks (have that curved top) that can be built up with clay or milliput, or left as is.

Pour a slab of plaster of paris and cut out and carve your own. Scribe the details in with the back side of your xacto.

Taking Keenan´s suggestion a step further ....
Take 2 polystyrene used trays.... those that come with meat or veg from the supermarket.
Cut the shape out of one, and glue it to the other. Then cast this shape. Some detail can be scribed into the bottom tray for extra detail (eg. Large RIP). This will come out as raised detail in the finished item. Some nice designs are possible with this method!
