Wouldn't it be nice if these model companies told you what the name of the pieces were, that you were putting on. Just think how educational it would be then, but I guess we are just lucky to get the right parts, at the right size, but we can always wish.
.

You mean like in the old days before "multi-lingual" became pictures and arrows which don't always make sense & the text budget was taken up with legalese to not let small pieces near children ....

I remember back when I first got this Italeri Kit # 258, and there was a lot of people here saying that it was Italeri's made up version, that no such thing existed.

Now looking at this Pinky, it looks as though I was led down the wrong path, that it seems to have just about everything this one has on this web site has.

I just wished this other web site was available then, cause I had nothing to do but believe then. I'm glad I never finished it back then.

After seeing a clearer picture of that post, I see it has another function, but what it is, I have no idea, to be a periscope, it would haft to extend a lot further then it does now, cause the gun on the other side would be exposed when the top of it was.

I went back and studied it further, and I noticed that there is a canvas cover over that piece between the post and the mirror, now it would seem it would be there covering something to protect, that can't be in the weather all the time, if we just knew what that was to.

That tube looked like it was hollow, and they welded a top on it, and it appears to look like a bulb in that little window, but that is an awful lot of trouble, just for a light, so that can't be it's only function. I wished somebody knew for sure what it was.

I've had another look at the kit instruction sheet (I usually don't keep them) and there's no reference to this part at all (unless it's actually called C34 -hahahaha). The line drawings/photos and what little explanation there is of the equipment carried don't mention it either. There's a rear view mirror attached to a small box which is in turn attached to the base of the post in question - if that helps. Here's a pic from my reference stash with some of the appropriate parts labled on the right (driver's) side. The 'mystery post' is outlined in white. Also, here's a pic from the militaryrovers.co.uk site (full credit here please) that shows the post in more detail. Looks like a site hole of some kind at the top and a power on/off toggle switch (mentioned in an earlier post). Anyone know what this is......?

Also, thanks for all of your positive comments... I really feel like I'm contributing and it makes the hobby more enjoyable knowing others appreciate my work....thanks again
Bob
