hi Leopold.
usually i use oil/enamel paints (humbrol etc) for airbrushing.... to clean use normal paint thinner from hardware shops. i also think that enamels takes longer to dry, so they dont dry quickly in the handpiece and clog the needle.
for normal brush painting i use only water-based/acrylic paints.

I mainly use water based acrylic paints with lacquer thinner or alcohol for airbrushing.
Sometimes, I use enamels, especially if it is going to be used as an undercoat visible through scratches from an acrylic overcoat.
However, I use enamels and oils for detailing and weathering. I never use oils for airbrushing.

Airbrushing is quite new to me. So far I have only used Humbrol enamels. I clean my AB with white spirits. Works fine.

my dad has like 5 different AB to paint cars as he used to sandblast and paint cars and motercycles to make a littel dough to pay the bills when i was younger... so he still has some omni au cleaner... ive used it a few times to far to clean enamles and its works a lot better than thinner
