Hi,
I'll be painting some US WW 2 soldiers uniform, particularly the buffy color of those worn by the 101st Airborne...the ones who were trapped in Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge.
I've done a few US soldiers before but their uniforms are usually olive green.
I've only done one or two figures with a buff colored jacket. I painted thier coats/jackets with Tamiya Buff. However, I'm not sure if I'm doing this right.
What Tamiya color/mix should I use so that I could have the accurate buff color on those jackets?
Thanks.
Angela

Angela,
You might find this site helpful, there is tons of info on the site about uniforms, equipment, vehicles, etc. One of the topics is the colors to paint the uniforms and equipment. Here is the address:

Great link. Another particularly useful article off this same site is http://www.battlefront.co.nz/Article.asp?ArticleID=301 which has a section about Bastogne.

Angela, if you are ever going to do a soldiers uniform and want to do a new shirt, of a WWII, then Humbrol 076 Uniform green is the color.
I looked at it and it is a dead on match, I seen somebody else do a 120 mm figure with this, then I knew.
This is one beautiful color, I was surprised how they hit it on the head, and all the other paints missed, and I'm not a Humbrol user normally, as a matter of fact it is pretty hard for me to get hold of, the only way I can get it, is by mail.
