I was thinking of a diorama idea with a Challenger 1 manning a checkpoint behind some of those earth filled barriers and a Sabre going past the checkpoint. I fairly certain that both of these vehicles served in Bosnia and Kosovo but I was wondering what units would have fielded these two vehicles during the same time period.

The British Army picture library has a picture of a Challenger II and Sabre together but that is the closest I have come.

Units with Chally 1's in Bosnia/Kosovo were as follows
Queens Royal Hussars (A & B squadrons)

Queens Dragoon Guards

Royal Scots Dragoon Guards

Kings Royal Hussars.

In Europa Militaria #29 "Challenger Squadron there is a pic of a non up armoured Chally 1 mk3 of the Queens Royal Hussars parked up next to 2 Sabres of the Light Dragoons taken in Bosnia and dated May 1996. All 3 vehicles are in green/'black and are marked up as IFOR (Implimentation Force) vehicles.

I don't know if you can get it over there but in a past issue of military in scale magazine there were a couple of articles on making the gabions that the Challengers parked behind.
