Dio ideas running through my mind...mostly based on Fallujah and the "Thunder Run" campaigns.

From reading "TR" it would seem that the US armor took a LOT of small arms (

Battle damage is a much asked question on this site. Instead of copying and pasting my standard response, if you use the search feature, you will get a mass of information.

WOW...

Not sure what happened to the rest of my post first post (it was kinda late). It seems to have disappeared.

Anyhow- the question is what happens to modern armor (M1A1, M2A2) when hit by small arms fire, especially 7.62x39. I have not seen pics that show this. I'd guess that the surface is nicked or gouged, but am unsure how deep, is it noticeable? Does the armor show through as bright metal, or is it a dark, dull shade??

Is anyone aware of pics showing this?

Thanks...and I'll look again for battle damage info to Modern vehicles from small arms on the site.
