hello guys(women) I am a starting model builder and I'am now working on my first dio. (1/35)
I try to make a dio concerning stalingrad.
Only I don't now how broad I must make the pavement and the way. what altitudes must I make my ruines in scale and so on. And how high was a building in stalingrad during ww2.
where do you guys obtain your references from for your buildings and so on.(which sites)
thanks.

Robster,
I did a Google image search and came up with a bunch of pictures that should help you. Depending on what area of the city you are modeling the building varied a lot. The outskirts had low wooden row homes for the workers and the center of the city was commercial and industrial space.

thanks but what I mean is a type of blue-print of a building. where I can see on how large the buildings were. Then I can calculate it to scale 1/35 and that way I have the correct altitude in my dio.

For general meaures take this:
http://www.euronet.nl/users/icu00808/ecatalog.index.htm
is in 1/87 scale you must convert to 1/35
take Amsterdan teenement for it.
no great differences in meaures among a duch workers house and a soviet workers house :-)
