Hi all,
just some pics of my BRDM1. It's the Arsenal kit with the Eduard PE set.
I think the green is too light . Any comment welcome.

More pics on my personal site

cheers

Looks good Olivier! I don't think that the green is too light but if you'd want to darken it up some, add a black (or other dark color) wash. (?)

Hi Carl,
I've got the full series of their BRDM's but I've not any pics of the models for the moment.

Arsenal is a Russian company which production is not very extended. You may have an idea of their range at the Jadar site or at Panzershop one.

Cheers

Carl,
this kit is being issued by eastern express at the moment so I've been told

The Arsenal kit is the Eastern Express kit. I've had them both and if you search our review sites, I did a look at the Arsenal kit wasy back when the site first started. The only difference between the EE and Arsenal kit was one (I forget which) came with one more marking option than the other. Other than that, the kits, markings, etc. were the same.

Hello Davy
the building was pretty easy and the instructions clear enough.
The tires are too glossy, you're right. In fact, the wheels come with rubber tires as real ones, I should have painted them before weathering. I've just sanded the surface to give it a worn-out effect, not sufficiently unfortunately.

Good build Bison, but I think it looks a little too clean just my opinion though, the green is just right. Does the kit have an interior?

It was first seen in '59 and was used during the 60s and 70s and was slowly replaced by the BRDM-2s.

Very nice build Bison. Are you going to weather it anymore? It looks Factory Fresh. The build is a good job!

I bult that a few years back. Wasn't a bad build for a 'shaped brick' and the missile roof blocks off (even open) the lack of an interior. It ended up in Military Modeling mag a few years ago.

It can be found here about halfway down the page if interested.

Thanks for the comment,

yes the kit comes with a simplified interior. Eduard details the dashboard, the floor, the fire ports. Both manufacturers miss detailed door/hatch interior.

In my opinion, the biggest flaw is the lack of MG. This kind of MG isn't common on the market and AFAIK no aftermarket part being available so far.

I think I should But for the moment I've got 2 Abrams on my working bench. Waiting on the shelves are 1 M1046, 1 M2A2ODS, 1 PT91 and 1 VT72B.

So I'm pretty busy and lacks time before going back to the BRDM. But considering that moeling is a never ending story, I regularly make "check-up" of my kits and have them on the work bench again for a kind of "enhancement program".
