I was wondering if anyone else has had a go at this one yet.
I finished building it a week ago and it still catches my eye when I walk past it.
It was just a great kit to build and finishes up as a very good looking model, the only downside being the decals, which were a bit translucent and glossy, and didn't respond very well to Microsol.
It would also help if I could have found references that gave a consistent colour for the blue on the top of the hull. Everything I found said it was something different, and the colour the kit tells you to mix up doesn't match any of the photo's Academy put on the box......

Thanks, guys,
I pipcked one of these up at the Nats and was wondering what others thought of it. I saw the official build up at the Academy table but it's good to hear what the real builders have to say.
Al :-)

Well, I have some comments about the kit, ignoring the debate about accuracy.
The running gear builds up nicely, except there's a fair bit of sanding and mold line clean up to do. The little tabs that segure the bogie trucks stick into the interior a bit, and those building the kit with hatches open will have to tidy that up.
The interior is totally wrong for a Honey. Academy obviously cut corners there, using the M3A1 interior for both. You have to eliminate the turret basket, build all new hull stowage, and change the gun mount to get close. Those with AMS will do more. I've bogged down at this stage, waiting for gumption I guess!
It is a nice looking little kit though.
It has had the heck reviewed out of it on Track-Link and Hyperscale.
Cheers
Andy

Hi Guys
I'd heard that the turret basket could have been wrong, but managed to find several cut-aways on the net that included it in the Honey, so I included it, and it is a shame Academy didn't get this part right because when it is in place most of the other detail painting and weathering you do to the interior can't be seen because the basket covers it all up.
So I guess I now have an unnecessary part covering up a lot of my hard work.........typical
On the paint colour, the mix Academy tells you to make turns out a blueish slate-grey, but every pic I've seen in every revue and on the model's box shows it as a mid-blue, except for the one in sgtreef's link, so who knows.............
Anyway, it does look good in blue, and it was a very enjoyable build...... :-)
