Hello guys . Seeing much interest on this dio from u and having yesterday a lot of time at home i worked 12 continuus hours. From 16.00 to 04.00 in the morning . When i do groundwork i really loose time and sense of anything . Hopefully my wife and kid are away fro 3 days so i used my time effectively .
I moved on the part 2 making the groundwork and the forest site. I ll give u plenty of pictures - sorry for bad shooting conditions. but i ll save the analetical text details fro the sbs so i wont bore u with saying 2 times the same things . See and comment .

Well i think feels real good to inspire people to work more , like the Crazu Major does .
When i saw the clock showing 4.00 in the morning ...well i was really shocked. Its not the first time but its the first 12 continuus hours of doing that ..so .....new feeling .
I am sorry that i cannot shoot properly the area inside the pines , i have used many techniques from Ospreys terrain modelling book and over 10 different materials combined. Maybe next shoot will be better

That is some work in progress there. If it looks this good so far..WOW..what will the finished work look like..Great Job Costas, just one more thing..where is your modelling assistant..cant see here anywhere in those pics.

hey costas that looks great!! but i think something that would make it look better is if you tone down the branches with some darker green because the trees look too uniform, u know what i mean? well let me know what u think of the suggestion.

As I'm sitting here at the 'puter with the first mug of coffee of the morning, I really had to tell myself that this is 1/35th scale and not a postcard.... This is truly unbelievable work... The touches of color with the flowers is extraordinary as well - just breaks up the 'sameness' beautifully - just keep them coming and don't forget that you owe all of us a FULL feature on this... Would you please post progress pics of your dio instead of your holiday pictures from Russia.
This is some serious good groundwork and I recognize a lot of techniques as shown in Ospreys Terrain modelling as you said. Great job. This will be a stunning piece when finished.
I second the opinion to tone down the branches a little bit or give them some different darker tones.

Further I can`t really say a thing then keep us updated about this wonderfull project.

As for the toning down as i said have not yet treated the pines with any dusting or weathering or anything . The real pine branches colours are indeed uniform , and i know that as i come from a mountain village that only had pines !!!!!!. I ll have to make some darker shade on them of cousre and i am thinkin with some pastel or pigment treatment with a soft brush . I ll experiment and see the resalts. Dont have option to airbrush them with colour as these are real mini plants that need air and moisture to survive and theyre preserved with glykerine. So if i mist some paint i ll close the breathing mouths.

Will see on a later stage what to do .
Now i have to move on with the Vehicles weathering , and after that starting the five turret beast T - 35

That is some seriously good ground wook. Very convincing. Gives you a really 'involved included' feeling.

Cuddos (good things) on the pine trees, you've done the tops really well. That area of the pine is the area that some people have 'missed' - you didn't you did them very well.

Costas that is amazing I love the pine trees. What did you use for the trunks?
The other night you know how you said it was hard to get groundwok materials in greece?..Well I forgot at the time but I use spices for my ground work mainly mixed spice for dirt or sometimes even real dirt.

your groundwork is amazing. What did you use for the road? what did you use for the pines? I really love it. Just one complaint... for now, the diorama is missing an article for those of us with less skills at groundwork... I hope this will be included with the final product
