I am needing a little clarification here. A week or two ago, I posted the news about the release of the ITALERI Leopard II a6 - Link to Story.... Well imagine my surprise, when the other day I was posting the new Revell (Germany) release list, and up pops ANOTHER Leopard IIa6 - again in 1/35th scale - NEWS STORY # 2 . Now I know that both Italeri and Revell have a certain degree of cooperation, and the timing is such, I do have a sneaking suspicion that BOTH kits are the same.. Anyone want to throw a bit of light on this? ...Jim

Yes, Jim, they are the same kit. All RoG Leopard 1/35 kits are reboxes of Italeri models.

Initially both Italeri and Revell announced this kit as Leo 2A6EX, but then first Italeri and later RoG changed it to 2A6, which was just released by both companies. And as longer barrel for 2A6 was already included in older Italeri and Revell 2A5 kits, this means that the kit is not new at all... There are supposedly some new parts in 2A6 box, but I don't know what they could be.

It seems to become an habit after their release of the M1A2 kit.
The question is why Revell kits cost so high compared to Italeri twin kit ?

I think it started with the LVT(A) Alligator as well. The Revell one being higher priced than the Italeri one. Go figure.

You see that all the time; the German plastic is more expensive than the identical kit popped under the Revell-ogram name here in the USA.

Business is really a strange thing ! I'd like Italeri to release the whole Revell.DE series of modern German stuff. It would be better for my wallet
