In response to Anmoga's question about M113 light mounts in the Rivet Review forum, these pictures show the brackets which are welded onto the hull and hold the bolt on the bottom of the individual lights:

Hi Paul,
Thanks for those pics!
It is interesting to notice that third picture shows early M113 (pre-A1) style headlight brush guard, which was narrower and welded, not bolted to the hull bracket. It can still be seen on some currently used M113 family vehicles, which were remanufactured using hulls of very early gasoline powered M113s.
Right headlights cluster layout was also different on those old vehicles from this visible on fourth and fifth photos above, as the marker light was between headlights, not above and behind them as in M113A1 and later vehicles. Tamiya old M113 model has old lights layout, but newer guards, what is not correct, as newer right guard in reality is too narrow for old lights layout. Academy kits have later style light layout.

Thanks for the photos. They are a great help.
But as always happens the detail I want to know how it is cannot be seen because of the light contrast. It is very dark to see how it is. I don´t know wether it is a plate bent onto which the light is attached or if it is similar to the method used on shermans. In the case of it being a bent plate wether it is a plate for all the lights of if it is a small bent plate for each individual light.
Thanks again for the help.

Did you try the M113 album in my motor pool? You can access it by clicking on my signature link. I have both M113A2 and M113A3 photos in there as well as M1064 (M113A2 based mortar carrier) and even an old M901 ITV.

All of the pictures except the third one are from a mint condition M901 which looks like it went through a refit. Paint is very well done and it has the coated periscopes.
The weird headlight bracket is on a M577A2. The other side has the more standard bracket.
There is a welded bracket for each light. NOT like the PE piece seen in some of the Eduard M113 sets which has all the lights on a strip.
