I thought I read in WW2 magazine that the German/US one is from the Hurtgen forest. So many dead and wounded they helped each other for a period of time.

Yep, the CSS Hunley was an American Civil War sub. Don't know the exact date though,(the war was 1861-1865) not a civil war buff, (OK... get out the wet noodles and flog me before the mast) but I sure someone will be able to give you the dates. It sunk on it's first mission, killing all aboard. They found the wreckage, and I believe they have raised her, and are in the process of preservation now. Do a "Google" I'm sure you'll pull up several thousand pages on her history.
Oh.... those are all really great prints......
Thanks for posting them.

Great prints here! Dave, you are correct ..she has been raised. As far as the Civil war..the foundation began in 1860 when South Carolina seceded from the nation, followed within two months by Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Texas. Next was the formation of the Confederate States, then, On April 12, 1861 - At 4:30 a.m. Confederates under Gen. Pierre Beauregard open fire with 50 cannons upon Fort Sumter in Charleston, South Carolina. The Civil War begins.
