Hi,
I realise this is off topic, i.e. non-military but it does concern trucks...lol.
But I would be very grateful if anyone can help me find a good reference for the logo of the 1950’s/60’s British Road Services.
It was circular with a lion over a wheel.
It’s for a Leyland Octopus 8 wheeler painting I’m in the middle of.

I’ve searched the net but with so many sites blocked from Saudi I have scored a duck so far.

Many thanks and cheers
Peter

Peter I know this is primarily a military vehicle site but with this forum I am happy to have posts about non military trucks, and by this i do mean TRUCKS ONLY!

There is a vast amount of vintage & classic trucks out there and with the modern military moving more and more to base civilian model trucks I am happy to include them in this forum.

The bad news is at the moment I cannot help but I will try and find something out for you if no one else can help.

Cheers
Cliff

Sorry Peter, I've had a search through some websites here and all I can find is some links to 1/76 scale models where the pics are so small you can hardly see the logo. It appears to be variation on the old British Rail lion over a wheel, but then BRS was owned and operated as part of BR at one time so perhaps this is correct?

Peter
I've been rummaging around and making fone calls and from what I can find out ,what you are looking for is the "British Transport Commission" roundel, It can be found on the side of Western region (railways) Mark 1 coaches or the D1000 class Western locomotives. I'll keep trying to find one for you.

Thanks for all your efforts lads...most appreciated.

And Dave...the site you've slotted in has the same truck I'm doing as the painting. Reg No. SUB 701.

I've e-mailed the site for a little help with the reference...we'll see what happens...lol.

Cheers
and thanks again
Peter
