Hola popjes,

I have been busy with the Verlinden Motor Compartment for the T-72. I think it is done now but I would like to have some opinions because I'm not sure for the dust that I added in all the tiny edges en gaps etc. I want to build the dessert version with the motor hatch opened. So I thought that it would be likely that dust will collect in the compartment.

I took the photos under lamp light so there are some colour differences

I want to thank Bison123 for sending me some pics of the motor compartment because those pics are very rare.

So for the ones that want to build this to, I uploaded a pic. It is the same you get in the buildmanual but this one is in colour, that means that it is much more clearly to figure out all those details.

Are you sure that's not a real thing it looks increditable. I like the feel of the texture look it brings out so much detail.

The weathering is awsome, the whole thing just blew my mind away. I was going to do a M1A1 engine but I was to afraid and it looked to hard to do. But yours just inspires me to try it.

I might have some questions about how you got the paint to look like it did when I start.

Happy Modeling

That looks like you pulled it from the real vehicle. Great Job!

Hi Jurjen,

nice pics and nice model as well. You definitely caught the right thing. Don't worry too much about the exact shade of your engine as in the desert, depending of the weather conditions, the time the motor deck has been let opened, I'm sure two engines look very different from one another.

cheers

Your engine is unbelievable! It looks like real metal. Please tell me what paints/techniques you used to achieve this effect. Also, what did you use for the wires? Did those come with the kit or did you make them? Thanks.

Thanks for the comments

@Armorguy: For the wires I used soft metal wire. The ones that can easy bend.

I painted the motor in basecolors, then I added an overall wash. Once this was dry I added pin-washes.

Then I added some paint chips and blended them with a light dry-brush. The finishing touches were done with pigments. I have used Humbroll for painting.

If you have any questions left, Ill be happy to answer them.

Thanks guys
