I got the Tamiya M113 "desert version" and realised it was without the interior. I was wondering if the Academy M113 interior would easily fit into it. Has anyone ever tried that before? Thanks, in advance.

If my memory serves the Tamiya M113 hull is slightly longer than the academy. otherwise you should have no problems interchanging parts. The worst that might happen is you will need to add a few pieces of plastic strip.

I would also suggest that you just take the decals and accessories from the tamiya m113 and use them on the academy one. The reviews say that the academy M113A2 is generally accurate than the tamiya M113.

Also note that interior in Academy kit is generally correct for M113A2 - the only obvious problem is that the internal fuel tank is too large. If you want to build US Army M113A3 (i.e. add external fuel tanks) then the interior is not correct for this variant and many changes are needed to make it reasonably accurate. And as others wrote, to build M113A2 (no external tanks in US Army service) you should just build Academy kit, as it is a better starting point.
