I love the figs, especially the smg. It looks great. As for the tree, I'm not sure on whether it's accurate, but it looks to me as if it's a bit glossy. This may be, as you said, the bad photography.

hey there, im not sure the camo scheme for ur fallschirjaegers are correct and for the tree it looks as if is a ready made woodland scenics trees. its in the shape of a pine tree, so i think u should try some greenery taht would simulate this...
just my 2 cents

Tsunamibomb,
it looks like the figs are coming along nicely. What paint are you using ? As in some of the pics the green used in the splinter camo seems really bright (though it seems to be the camera playing tricks).
Just one point of critique I think: In the top picture, the two figures on the left seems to have a massive mold-seam running along their arms.
Keep up the good work,
Harm

yeah, its weird, the base color for the fallschirmjaegers with the splinter camo is actually afrika korps yellow! I have no idea why it is turning out lime green. Its weird. Ill have some pics of my half track and tiger I tank later.

So far so good!
I think some dry branches that you can find in thwe garden would work better than this tree!

Your painting skills are evident, but what paint (brand/type) are you using? The green looks really odd. Are you mixing incompatible paints which might react with each other?
I do agree with other post about the tree. I have tried to use (railway) readymade trees, and they just don't work. I have never been happy with them. They really stand out and say " fake". That would be a shame as on the strenght of the pic's you have sofar shown, the figures and vehicles deserve more. You can always 'economise' as not every square inch of the Ardennes is covered in pine trees.... There are open spaces, areas with schrub, other type trees or even a stretch of ground which has been heavily bombed (artillery barrage?) and all thats left are bare trunks...
Good luck
Henk

Oohh yes, as for the photo's, try taking them with a neutral background, like light grey. It doesn't distract from the figures and helps the focus of your camera.

its wierd, its as if the green on the camo makes the yellow look light green? Look at the second pic, the guy with the wintercoat on is painted with the same exact paint. It only looks light green because the picture, In real life (without the camara) it looks just like the other guys winterjacket color. WEIRD! But, the pine tree isnt a readymade tree. It is one i made myself. Also, I did plan to have an open field in my diorama. It will have tall grass. Is it possible for a tank with a white wash and be in an area without snow? How do I make a better looking pine tree, preferably 6-8 inches tall. I really like this type of pine tree. Maybe a little more dark green pines. Heres the pic of the pine trees I want, they are not the ones I have...
Please someone help me out, I love the look of those pine trees and would do anything to get about 45. Thanks guys.

Hi Harrison
So far they look promising did you assemble them OOB?
Pity about the colouring on the pics. You might also try taking the pictures in natural light, maybe outside... I am also assuming that you are not taking the pictures using the candlelight setting... that would really screw up the shot!
Dutchbird has already noted the seam, which was unfortunately one of the first things I noticed.
On the positive side, I really like the effect you have gone for on the helmet with the right hand figure in the 2nd and 3rd pictures.
45 pine trees? this dio must be huge! just make sure your figures don't get lost amongst the trees...

Yeah, they are OOB. i could make them a little different but i like them the way they are... I dont know what you mean by candle light setting. I take the pictures at the spot I usually paint my models. I dont take them outside, but it does seem like a good idea. I couldnt do it today, it is raining in Arizona, can you beleive it It is almost a maracle to have rain in Arizona, so im going to love it while it lasts.

OH! sorry lol, I made it from woodland scenics pine trees, and i took some foliage and glued it on. I dont really think it will work because it doesnt really look like a pine tree. I need a pine tree.

yeah i dont know how those WS are supposed to allow you to make a reasiltic pine with thick branches like that....and what are you supposed to use for foliage...i think the major goose way is the best ive seen so far. Bragdon Enterprises really has a good product here. type in bragdon enterpises in google and you should find their site
