Ola Guys

Well I finally managed to get myself working on something. It`s the Kleine PanzerBefehlswagen from DML of which I made an Inboxreview of.
Well I built it OOTB used the crew. Only AM additions I added were Warriors heads for the Tankcrew. This will be part of a small dio depicting a scene from the invasion of Holland.
Well enough talk here are the pics







Well Still a lot to do on this vehicle. Washing, Filtering, Weathering. I still have a huge amount of work to do on the crew. And then comes the groundwork etc.

Nice build you have there. I see that you have only applied a base coat? So I suppose that you will paint the tank in Dark Grey?

good to see you modelling back . I liked the 265 build.I always wanted to build this as the ambulance version. figures also look great and good change with warriors heads.will you try to pose 2 guys looking at the same point?

looks excellent mate, this kit has caught my eye for a long time now, and yours is coming along nicely, i really like the figs though, the faces are really well done, cheers

Nice so far, I know there is more to come. Two questions, what's going on with the close up of the uniform, what are the white specs? What happened to the lower figures right hand, it looks like the flesh tone has been wiped off?

Jurjen actually it is already sprayed in 2 colors but because the colors lie so close to each other it is not really good visible in the pictures.

Engin both the figures will look in the right directions when the scene is finished.

Scott The white specs on the guys uniform is my own stupidity. didn`t clean my room and dropped the figure onto the dusty floor. Thanks to that I have to strip the whole fig of paint which I regret because the drivers head was really good. Oh well. His hand is not that big of a problem as that is only the basecoat for the hands which catched a little steak of Nailpolish remover when I was removing some putty between his arms.

Nice work so far Faust. Base coat of Dunklegrau looks great, and the 2 crew figures look good as well.

Hallo Robert,

Good to see a dio involving Holland, the invasion is not very often depicted. Probably because there were no Tigers or Panthers involved..... . What scene will you show and where will it be? Border, Grebeberg, Afsluitdijk??
The figures look good, just wondering, in 1940 would they not be wearing the 'Panzermuetze' ?

nice job and clean build. I have the same kit which i'm waiting to recieve from an online shop. Do u drill hole in the MG nozzle or the hole is already there??

John the MG barrel is actually a good result of somethign that went terribly wrong. The tank you see now is already stripped once because I completely screwed up the paintjob. the Whole finish became glossy and so did the MG when I stripped the Tank I removed the MG carefully so it wouldn`t break and I forgot to clean it. SO basically the MG has the same glossy panzergrey finish as the tank first had. I`m not planning to do more on it besides a black wash to bring out the details of the gun and giving it some strokes with a pencil to give it the metallic Blueish look.

Henk Indeed you don`t see much early war dio`s from teh invasion of Holland. Usually you see Poland or France. That`s why I thought it would be interesting to make it this way. Well I did some research and found out that most German armor was in the south of Holland during the Invasion but I also found a picture of a Kleine PanzerBefehlswagen in a street in The Hague. This makes it quite interesting and opens more possibilities to have the proof that these vehicles came more northern to the big cities. Well basically I have some early war wehrmacht soldiers with warrior heads and I really want a ANWB roadsign where the Signs are removed off something which the Dutch army did before the invasion. SO probably it will be a more neutral dio not really bound to a specific area but you never know what I might come up with. I have a couple Ideas in my mind.

Silantra This kit is so nice and I can recommed it to everyone. Well most of the answer is in Johns answer I drilled in the hole of the MG as the kit doesn`t have it.

Nice little beastie Robert. So far it all looks good. The grey used looks a bit on the dark side ... dont know if this is more the photographs? Some pastel dust in the seems will show up the detail and will look cool. Looking forward to your next installment.

A good colour for machineguns I found recently is Humbrols black mixed with silver. Highlight with gun metal mixed with silver! Easy on the silver as a little goes a long way!

Frank The Original Panzergrey used to be much much darker. In the beginning of the war the vehicles looked almost black untill you saw the commander sticking out and you saw the colours of his uniform were just a bit darker then the tank. This is only the basic paintjob and a lot will happen to it before it is finished. Still needs filters washes and drybrushes. Pigments etc.

Usually I just take a Dark grey from Humbrol. All my painting I do with Humbrol Enamels. In this case I sprayed Humbrol 67 Matt Tank Grey over a coat of black .
No big secrets or whatsoever but the Tank grey is a really nice color to represent The color the germans used.
By the way that is a really nice Pz1 you have there. how is the quality of fit with the Tristar Panzer1?

that is Tristar panzer 1A late version...the quality of the fit is IMHO very good with minor gap that can be easily filled with little use of filler. Other than that, it's excellent. I Love the decals. the way they react with microsol/set
