I just picked up the old Italeri M24 Chaffee and was wondering who makes a good set of replacement T85E1 rubber chevron tracks. Also, is the Rubio barrel the only replacement one available? IIRC, the Rubio barrel represents an earlier T13E1/M5 aircraft gun with the grooved collar in the middle of the barrel. I need one of the later M6 barrels w/out the groove.

Thanks!

Mike Dobiesz did a brass Chaffee barrel (unsure if it is different than the JR one) and Armour Track models does both a WW2 set and a late set (T-85E1) with the rubber chevrons. I have a set and they are rather nice. It is set #TK-06.

I'll check my brass barrel and compare it to my JR barrel tonight.

I double checked my brass barrel. I don't have the JR barrel to compare it to, but there is no grooved collar in the middle of the barrel.

The Armour Track set includes resin sprocket and idler wheels. The idler wheels have the lightening holes along the circumference. The sprockets have the lightening holes along the sprocket hub as well. Nicely done set.

That'll save alot of extra work. Thanks for the info about the barrel as well!
