A thought occured to me the other day while I was painting the tail lights on an M48. Seems to me that I remember that there were marker lights under the tail/brake light that assisted the driver in keeping distance between tanks in convoy. Memory not being what it use to be I might be wrong but I seem to remember that there were 2 per side or was it 4 ? Any way if you saw all 4 lights you were too close. 2 lights and you were keeping a 50 yd seperation. And what, 1? and you were too far away? But anyway, I don't see these on the model or I'm not looking close enough. Just another old memory that this hobby has resurrected.

Blackout markers are still there, take a look at some of the photos in my motorpool. The rectangular bar had four white hash marks. I believe proper distance is when the four marks look like one. Two means you're too close (per side).
