Hi guys, this is one of the few kits that came with me to Ft. Lee. I was taking a gander at a couple of the barrels I have for this kit (one is for the DML ISU-122). The CMK "Hot Barrels" (HB025) comes with a resin mantlet and resin muzzle brake. The Jordi Rubio (TG-20) comes with a white metal muzzle brake and no mantlet (back of the package shows the IS-2/2M, IS-3, ISU-122S). The CMK Hot Barrel ran about $8 at Squadron, the JR about $5+, both are nicely done, the resin having a little flash in the muzzle, but nothing serious or unexpected. I also have the Aber PE set (35035), very nicely done and fit to Tamiya's kit.

I've got the Concord book "Stalin's Heavy Tanks 1941-1945" as a reference but was wondering if there is a website or book that highlights some post war or early Cold War usage.

Tamiya kit looks very good and should be an excellent build. I'm not concerned with the accuracy of the overall kit since I hear that there is now a more accurate Trumpeter JS3M Heavy Tank (Cookie Sewell did a nice review of it on RMS here).

Rob,

Andrew Dextris did a super detail of the IS-III (WW-II version) back in Military Modeling. Not readily available right now. Will look up the issue tomorrow night, but it might be available onthe MilMod's web site.
