Now if you could define fancy stuff, then somebody might be able to help you, cause we have no idea what you mean by fancy stuff.
Everything has a way of doing it, and it all depends on what you mean in particular. Now if you have all different kinds of things that need done, then somebody can help you with them on a one to one basis, on each technique.
I hope this helps some on explaining what I mean, that we can't help you unless we know what it is that you need.

Welcome to Armorama sonnyboy. Glad to see you here.
I use a paint brush and very thinned flat white paint The brushed on effect is most realistic as this was the way the troops applied it to their vehicles in the field.

...winter scheme.
Remember that while some did use spraygun on the tank's air compressors many used brushes, mops, rags and what every was available in the field.

Hi Sonnyboy.
Welcome to Armorama.
It would be more helpful when you posted your subject line that you include what you need help with.
For example : Need help with WWII German Winter Paint Scheme or Ideas about painting WWII German Winter ... etc
Alot of people will pass over your post if the subject is too general ...
Cheers, Michael

You may try painting the model white and the dry brushing with the base color of the tank.
I did this with the old Tamiya PzII-F and it looked pretty decent.
Painted white and heavy dry brush of panzer grey on the areas of wear. Crew access, engine deck, streaks down the sides from rain, etc....
