What's a good color for a GI blanket, 1944, either straight or a mix? My LHS has mostly Modelmaker. Thanx.

any green color from a light khaki green to a darker field green would work..

a couple of my favorite Model Master colors for GI equipment is Faded Olive Drab and Feild Drab (which I lighten a bit.)

after basecoat i would wash with a darker green then drybrush with a lightened color of the basecoat.

since these faded with time and use almost no color green would be the Exact Green so feel free to experiment.

I use MM Medium Green lightned with a drop or two of white. Then I dry brush with Faded O.D., give a light wash with pure MM Med. Green and dry brush again very lightly with MM Sand. That's my technique for most bedrolls, tarps, etc... I usually try to vary the base colour to add some contrast between the different articles of equitment.

Hi art ww2 u.s. blankets in ww2 were of brown wool
mostly in varying shades of dark chocolate brown to a green brown ! hope this helps ! ?
