In watching the news, I have been focusing on Humvees lately. I have noticed a considerable variation in the types of gunshileds I've managed to pick out in the background shots. Am I correct in assuming that there is no standard ype used on the 1025, or are there several different types used for the different types used. I have found that Blast models has an update set, but it is extremely difficult to find anyone who carries it. One US company did at a heart stopping rate of $33. So, I figure to scratch build or get one of those accurate armor Gunshield/50 cal kits for $10 or better still find someone who didn't use theirs on an M 113 or M-88 Nam era build. So one of you softskin experts please advise.

Steve, I don't think there is a standard version for the gun tubs used on the 1025 but from what I have read and seen, the gun shields all match the style of the blast models kit. I don't want to incite an Army/Marines battle here but apparently the blast models-type shield was designed by a Marine soldier, whose commander found the design so effective that he recommended it be a mass produced item. Army guys, please don't hurt me if I got it wrong (or right). Hopefully this helps.
