Hello all,
Finaly recieved a few new pics of a few dios that I did as of this past Sept all thanks to a very good friend with a digital camera. The first two are Shermans, one in Holland and the other in The Ardennes. After a bit I will change them with new ones and place the shermans into the Armorama MSN overflow site. Hope you enjoy them and feel free to comment.

Russ,
I don't know if you had noted this yet but Robert (Faust) was able to move over many of your photos from the old gallery.

Sharp Collection

We would be happy to add-on to that if you want to send them to us via the Support Center.

Nice work on these!

Cheers,
Jim

Hi SAS,
Really nice dio's, I love the 'washing day' concept.
The weathering on your Firefly in Holland is beautiful, and I like the effect of the Sherman ploughing through the deep snow. That's given me some inspiration for my next dio.

Thanks for showing
Henk

Hello Sas...

I like your pic's a lot, especially the "Dutch Sherman", this one captures the Dutch atmosphere exactly!!
I like the weathering on the Firefly a lot, as the stowage and Canvas cloth as well.
Would you mind sharing the way you made the snow in your Ardennes dio?? You see, I'm planning to make a snowy dio in the future, so I'm looking for different techniques on making snow.

Keep up the very nice work, John.

Great Firefly, Russ, as usual! It's a bit of a shame to see all of your cool paint chipping disappear on your snow covered Sherman, you did quite a bit of work on it before you added the "snow".
Henk, I'm sure Russ will give a quick run down on how he does his snow...it's easier to replicate than one would think!
Good stuff Russ, can't wait to see the others!

Hi John,
As Kelly said it`s a no brainer, all it is is white sand ballast or the whitest sand that you can find.
Imbed your tank into the styro and start shoveling the sand all over your dio dry,let it lie where it falls especialy when building up around the tank. Pile more in the front. Soak with white glue and water, let dry overnight. You can add more if you feel it`s not deep enough. I also made a little pot of sand porridge, water, sand and whiteglue and with an old brush started the buildup around the tracks, hull and rear area. Once it`s all completely dry, rockhard dry ,I
then do a heavy drybrush of white paint, paint it out completely if you want it whiter and then after dry use dark blue and light blue pastels for shadows then stick your foliage in.

As usual Russ, great work. And two that I don't think I've seen before!
The Firefly especially grabs the attention.

What a brilliant idea, now just to think of an excuse to go to the aquarium/petshop for some white sand... :-)

I think I can come up with a plausible reason why I need to go to the petshop (although we don't have pets). A plane ticket to Canada would be a altogether different matter...

Cheers

Thankyou very much guys for your comments,I`m quite tickled pink! Faust, thanks, that`s a great offer and watch for sets of pics coming you way. I downloaded a zip program but don`t have a clue on how to make it work so yes if you don`t mind I will send them to you.
Also,on the msn overflow site there is a folder of my stuff if you wish to grab some from there.
Thanks for this opportunity.

- I'll be back for some more one day too Russ - I took an empty bag with me just for the models! At less than 50% of the UK shop price and claim the tax back on returning home!
