Nice one war-tool!!
Your build is quie clean and the weathering is very subtle. Are you putting this in a diorama. Some stowage and more weathering on the tracks will make it better.

Hi War-Tool,
Very nicely built model and I esp. like the paint and weathering job. Congratulations.
I have the MIrage Grant set up to be built as well and would like to hear about the sprocket problem you referred to earlier as well as comments about how you put the 75mm main gun together. Any other interesting challenges?
The tracks are really nicely done on your model. However, I have heard that the tracks as supplied by MIrage are not accurate for British Grants which seem always to have a double I pattern (WE 210) on the rubber blocks. Mirage makes a photoetch set that you can use to glue the double Is on individually (I have a set: it has 180 of these little bits and is well done) and someone else markets a full set of WE 210 tracks (in resin?). If you can still remove the tracks you maywish to make this modification but in any case yours is a great build and an inspiration to me.
Cheers, Richard

Very nice build, I like the weathering job. A little bare metal and chipped paint in some obvious areas (hatches, rivets, etc.) would really make it stand out IMHO.

Impressive looking Grant. I've got the US Tunisia M3 Lee and the Russian Kursk M3 Lee. Both are the exact same kit with different decals. I like the way Mirage gives you three choices of 75mm barrels, the long 75mm, short 75mm and a counterweight to add to the short barrel.
I like the clean looks of your build, but I would have added some color variation to your tool stowage. Also the machine gun tripod (object attached to the left front hull superstructure) would not be painted and would remain natural metal. The canvas covering the actual pintle mount could be a khaki color or OD just to give it a different color than the base color of the tank.

Really nice, the only thing I could add to the previous comments, is perhaps a wash of burnt umber over the rivets? It has so many well-moulded rivets, perhaps they need to 'stand out' a bit more...
Just a question over these kits, what else are they doing in this scale? ...Jim

They do the Vickers/7TP/T-26 light tanks as well as the entire range of M3 Lee/Grant family (cast hull, command and recovery versions shown on box side), and I believe they have a PzKpfw IV series in the works (also shown on box sides).Really nice, the only thing I could add to the previous comments, is perhaps a wash of burnt umber over the rivets? Hey guys! Thanks for all the replys. Well to start this post off, My camera does some weird stuff to the pics i take, I just tooks some slightly clearer pics, but i will take some more with my friends camera if you are interested. The sproket porblem started when i tried to wrap the track around it, then the post that holds the sproket on snaped off, SO BE CAREFUL when putting the tracks on these kits. I had to glue a metal rod in to fix it. But thats all in the past now. The MG tripod on the side of the hull is actually graphite in color, and it has a good looking canvas cover on it, guess it didnt show up to well in the pics. Also the Tracks are incorrect for most british desert tanks, Mirage sells a PE set to correct the tracks, but i dint want to get it. The model does have a nice burnt umber wash to it, its very subtle, and looks awesome in person. Again, Thanks for all the comments.
