Howdy Garry,
Yer gonna hate me, but someone's got to have the courage to tell ya

......that strip is at least
twice as wide (vertically) as it should be......sorry. I alsodon't believe it was mounted below the sponson edge, but actually
on the edge.
You've got the length correct. It ran from the hard edge of the front of the hull (not out to the 'regular' fender), and then all the way back the rear hull edge.
Shermie's is also correct about the number of holes in the strip. I also don't have a photo handy, but I believe the spacing was every six (6) inches.
Also, something to remember (and it might be easier for you), is that some crews/maintenance personnel would just re-screw the bolts back into the holes along that strip after the sandskirts had been removed. So, if it's easier for you to
add boltheads, instead of drilling all those holes......you have a choice.
Don't let the changes get you down Garry. You work is excellent, and your modeling 'attitude' is superb....keep it up!
Tread.
