I found this hobby store here in Vancouver (Canada) and they sold a lot of old Tamiya tanks but the ultimate was the German 8ton semi track Sdk 7/1 with the 20mm antiaircraft and figures with snow suits on. Remeber that one? It's kind of nice to buy teh model that I just looked at in awe when I was a kid. I was also able to get my hand on Panzer colors 2. That may not be a big deal around the world but In Vancouver good luck. What I would like to know is what does volume three cover? The owner said he would be getting the re-issue in September.

Here you go godfather:
Panzer Colors III by Bruce Culver. Squadron/Signal Publications, 95 pages, soft cover. - Book III in the series covers the "Markings of the German Forces from 1939 to 1945". It covers how each division, battalion or unit actually used and applied the markings detailed in Book II. Like that book, Book III uses a combination of text, period black & white photographs, line drawings, and color artwork to tell the story. The book is another must buy if you want to add those little details that make an average model, outstanding.

If you Vancouver guys ever go across to the island, I'd suggest BC Shaver and Hobby in Victoria. It's a really great store with a ton of models, books, and aftermarket parts. I go there every summer, when I'm on Vancouver Island.
What exactly is in that book you got, Don Corleone? I noticed they have it at my local hobby store.

The store is called "Magic Box Hobbies". The book goes into details about the markings and insignias used by the germans

Hi!
I've heard that they only will reissue the numbers 1 and 2, the #3 isn't listed for a short coming...

Godfather and Leader,
I've traveled all over the world and guess what : of all the places I ever visited there's no place I would rather live than in Vancouver ! I have this dream about moving there when I'm retired. The ocean, the mountains, great city, superb Chinese and Japanese restaurants, close to the rockies, Stanley park, the beach, the aquarium... sigh. I hope to come by again next winter or spring.

Hi All,
Panzer Colors III covers the "other" units that had armor: panzergrenadier divisions, Tiger units (Whermacht and SS), Kursk markings and the Hermann Goering Division. However, the Panzer Colors books are somewhat dated and there are numerous mistakes. There used to be a part of AFV News' website that listed the mistakes and the corrections, written by Bruce Culver. Unfortunately, that part of the website is being moved and is isn't accessible . Anyway, keep your peeled for it when its back up and running.
Regards,
Georg

Sounds like you've found a good shop there Godfather!
The Squadron books get reissued all the time. I think it's hilarious when I see folks paying $20 to $30 for single issues of the Panzer Colors series. I just moved from Denton TX, and visited Squadron at their open house last year. Basically, they have STACKS of their books there. I think once the pile is empty for a while, and once there is some demand built up, they reissue the books. Anyway, they are good books, but the accuracy of volumes 2 and 3 is suspect, as Bruce Culver has pointed out. Of course, the pics are great, and you just have to be careful of the unit assignments.
Lot of Tiger photos in Vol. 3!
