I am plannng on building some Sherman recovery/engineering vehicles and I would also like to cover the many Sherman varients/tracks & suspensions. I want to build the following vehicles: A Crab flail, mine roller, dozer and both M31 &M32 recovery vehicles. What should I use for a base on each, M4A1, M4A2, M4A3, M4A3E8, etc. I would like to show the different suspensions used and at least one 105mm turret. I have a M3 for the M31 so that is a sure one. Any suggestions? The dozer will be pushing the mine roller so they will be displayed together. Would the dozer be mounted on a 105 M4A3?

Jim
As far as the 105mm howitzer turetes and dozer blades go that combo was in Korea only on the M4A3E8 as far as I know
The only W.W.2 Sherman dozers pics I have seen were on the 75mm type If you can give me a few days I will search my reference books on what type of hull the dozer blade was common on during W.W. 2

Hi Jim ... Here are a few ideas for you ...
Flail was mostly on the M4A4
The mine rollers I have seen on most types(used by the Americans) even on an M32a1.
The bulldozer could be mounted on any body ,but seems to have been seen alot on early M4A1s.
The British also used either the M4A2 or M4A4 as turretless recovery vehicles.
hope this helps a bit
Rick
