It's funny Costas, my dios seem to end up how you were describing, my bases are all the same, the first thing I do when I determine the size of my base is to run the material through the table saw to make rabbits on the edges. Only reason I do this is to give some room for when I make a case for the dio. I have to make cases for everything (except cars) to keep dust out.
