I just finished a new theme for Dialup ISP users. It's an abbriviated version of the regular site and has fewer graphics on the homepage and site frame. It also has no right side blocks (voting, history channel, quotes, etc.) so it will also work for those on smaller displays or those using 800 X 600 or below.

On the topic of screen resolutions I know many people use 800 X 600. I would like to recommend that you try the next higher resolution (1024 X 768) and see if that works better for your PC use. This is a never ending cycle I am afraid, and as much as I wanted the site to work for 800 X 600 users, it just kinda crept out of the box.

To change your theme please check your my account page.

Cheers,
Jim

Jim, thanks. You've done a tremendous job here with ArmoramA.com!

I do the dialup at home and quite frankly, I'd be afraid that I'd miss something, so I'm staying with the default theme for now. I don't feel that the download time is all that bad anyway. Still finding my way around here, but this place is a ton of fun and knowledge, and by-jeepers (PC here), I'm sticking to it!

My sincerest thanks to you and crew! There's a lot of work involved here!

Thanks,
Kevin Keefe

I do agree with Jim on the 1024x768 resolution. I have built my website specifically for that resolution. Everything just looks better at the higher setting.

Hi Jim, I'll give it a try.
By the way..............do you or anyone else, know if this new
High Speed DSL for Dial-Up that is being advertised really
works for Dial-Up modems ???????????
My PC is ancient.............only a 75MHz Pentium Processor and 40Mb RAM. ( your
probably having a good laugh now - that's ok'................ LOL ).
But, will this Dial-up DSL thing really increase my internet speed when logging
on to webpages and surfing the net ?

I changed the setting too Jim - and I like it. Considering going to 1024 x 768 for my personal website too now...

Ralph,
The thing with the dsl lines is it is your line so increased traffic wont slow you down but you need to live close to a switch inorder to even get the digital line. With regular phones (analog lines) the more people on the slower you connect. Most people have a 56K modem. However most people can only connect at 28k due to the physical phone lines. So DSL does give you an increase in speed to about 32 mbs. JDM

Hats off and a salute to you. I am fine with the armor theme, 95% of my time here is at T1 speeds, perk of work!!

I just wanted to say of all the sites I have frequented this is by far the most well kept and updated and improved site I have seen - GREAT JOB.

Never hesitate to ask us if there is anything we can do to help out.
