I got the Tamiya Panzer III L with the Verlinden interior kit for my birthday. Now that AFV interiors is shut down, does anyone know where I can get some good color references? I have B&W photos, but nothing of the lower hull. Where they red oxide early in the war, or were they buff?

Hello Patrick
I have at home a view pics from the interior of a Pz III at the Tank Museum in Bovington. When I'm at home, I will post this pics. But I don't know if the color is right now.
See you later

Patrick, the interior of German armor was painted 'Elvenbein' which is ivory. Oxide red was only used later in the war when supplies became a problem. Even then I don't believe that there was a general order not to paint the interiors anymore, as in those days any color available was used. See also other treads about painting the outside of AFV's.
But your PZR III would have been build before that, so Ivory (or indeed any shade of off-white) would seem to be the one.
Cheers
Henk
